Terms of Service
Effective Date:
Last Updated: September 20, 2025
Welcome to Great Community!
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Great Community website (currently hosted at violet-goat-812693.hostingersite.com and any associated domains we may introduce) and any related services or community platforms operated by Great Community. Great Community is referred to in these Terms as “GC,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” By accessing our website, engaging with our community (including our Discord server, social media pages, and any Great Community applications or features), or utilizing the GREAT (GT) token in connection with our community, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Great Community. We advise you to read them carefully and contact us if you have any questions. We’re striving to make our Terms clear and understandable, but if you need any clarification, feel free to reach out (contact information is at the end of this document).
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the GC website or any of our services, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you are using our site on behalf of an organization or community group, you are agreeing to these Terms for that entity and promising that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, “you” and “your” in these Terms will refer to that entity.
You understand that these Terms may be updated by us from time to time, and your continued use of our site or participation in the community after we update the Terms means you agree to the changes. If we make material changes, we will do our best to notify the community (for example, via an announcement on our website or a message in our Discord). However, it’s ultimately your responsibility to review these Terms periodically. If you do not agree to an updated term, you should discontinue use of our services.
2. Description of Services
Great Community (GC) is an online community built around the principles of personal development, shared insight, and collective growth (with a good dose of fun memes and positive vibes!). We provide a platform for members to engage in discussions (primarily via our Discord server and possibly other forums), share content, and collaborate on projects and ideas. Our website serves as an information hub for what GC is, how to join or participate, and updates about our initiatives.
In addition, GC is developing a community token known as GREAT (GT). The GC website and associated services may provide information about the GREAT (GT) token and its role in our community (for example, early access events, how the token can be used within the community, etc.). Please note that the token is a supplementary feature of our community experience — GC’s core focus is on community-building and content, not on token speculation.
We may also offer other features, content, or services over time. For instance, we might host virtual or real-life events, publish articles or educational materials, or offer newsletters. All such current and future offerings provided by Great Community will collectively be referred to as the “Services” in these Terms.
3. Eligibility
Great Community is meant for adults and responsible young adults who can engage positively in an online community. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 13 years of age. (If you are under 13, you are not permitted to use our site or join the community. If you are between 13 and 18, you affirm that you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Services, and that your parent/guardian has read and agrees to these Terms on your behalf. Certain aspects of our community might be more appropriate for those 18 and older; we expect all members, regardless of age, to behave with maturity.)
- You have the full power and authority to enter into these Terms. This means no law or regulation prohibits you from using our Services. For example, if you are on a sanctions list or are barred from participating in certain internet communities by law, you cannot use GC. (We honestly don’t expect this to be an issue for our typical member, but we have to state it.)
- You will only use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use, or on behalf of a company or organization only if you are authorized to do so. Our community is for genuine engagement, not for spamming or scamming others.
- You are not a competitor of Great Community (e.g., you’re not using our platform to harvest information to build something that directly copies our model in a harmful way) and you are not using our Services for purposes of monitoring their availability, performance, or functionality for competitive or benchmarking purposes.
We reserve the right to refuse access to the Services to anyone, or to suspend/terminate any user, at our discretion if they violate these Terms or pose a risk to the community. We aim to be inclusive and welcoming, but protecting our community sometimes requires tough decisions. If we remove or ban someone, we will have reasons (like breaking the rules outlined here or in our community guidelines).
4. User Conduct and Community Guidelines
We want Great Community to be a positive, safe, and enriching environment for everyone. By participating in GC (whether on our site, Discord, or any platform we host), you agree to uphold basic standards of respect and integrity. You agree that you will NOT:
- Engage in Illegal or Harmful Activities: Don’t use our Services for any unlawful purpose or to promote illegal activities. This includes (but isn’t limited to) fraud, phishing, distributing malware, child exploitation, terrorism, or harassment. You also must not violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws while using GC.
- Harass, Bully, or Abuse Others: Treat other community members with respect. Do not threaten, stalk, insult, or intimidate others. Hate speech, discrimination, or any content that attacks or demeans a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc., is strictly prohibited. Be kind and civilized. Healthy debate is welcome; personal attacks are not.
- Spam or Self-Promote Inappropriately: Our community spaces should not be overrun with spam or unwelcome solicitation. Don’t repeatedly post the same content, advertise unrelated products/services, or send unwarranted private messages promoting something. If you have something valuable and relevant to share (like a project you made that aligns with our community’s interests), share it in the appropriate channel and manner. Always follow any specific channel rules regarding promotions.
- Impersonate or Misrepresent: Don’t impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with someone. This includes not pretending to be a GC moderator/admin if you’re not, and not claiming false credentials or experiences. Transparency is important for trust.
- Disrupt or Attempt to Exploit the Service: Don’t do things that could harm or impair the normal functioning of our website or community. This includes attempting to hack our systems, spread viruses or malicious code, perform denial-of-service attacks, or use bots/scripts to scrape content or flood the discussion. Also, do not exploit any bugs or vulnerabilities you might find. (If you discover a security issue or bug, we appreciate responsible disclosure to the admins so we can fix it.)
- Post Inappropriate Content: You are responsible for the content you post in our community. Do not share anything that is obscene, pornographic (explicit sexual content is not allowed in our community forums), excessively violent, or otherwise objectionable. Also, do not post anyone’s personal information (doxing) or content that violates someone else’s privacy or intellectual property rights (e.g., don’t upload content you don’t have permission to use).
In short, use common sense and courtesy. Our community may have additional guidelines or a code of conduct posted (for example, rules listed in the Discord server or subreddit). Those specifics are considered part of this “User Conduct” requirement – you must follow them as well. Failure to abide by community guidelines can result in consequences such as warnings, content removal, or account suspension/ban from the community, at the discretion of GC moderators.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules or that we find inappropriate, and to take appropriate action against the poster. Great Community moderators and admins may, but have no obligation to, monitor user content and interactions. By using our Services, you understand that we are not responsible for the content posted by users but we have the right to enforce these guidelines to maintain a healthy community.
5. User-Generated Content and License
When you post content in the Great Community (be it on our website, Discord, or other platforms we host), you retain ownership of your content. You own your thoughts and creations. We do not claim ownership over the stuff you post. However, by making content available through our Services, you are granting us and other users certain rights to use that content, so the community can function. Specifically:
- License to GC: You grant Great Community a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify (e.g., reformat or excerpt), adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display your user-submitted content solely in connection with providing and promoting the Services. This means, for example, if you post an insightful message or a helpful guide on our forum, we have your permission to keep it available for other members to read, to feature it as part of a highlights blog, or to share it (with credit to you) in a newsletter showcasing community contributions. We will not sell your individual posts or otherwise use your content outside of supporting the community.
- License to Other Users: You also grant each user of our community platforms a non-exclusive license to access and use your content within the context of the community (for example, other members can read your posts, quote or share them within the community, etc.). If you post something publicly, others may reference it. Essentially, by sharing in a public forum, you are allowing others to engage with what you shared. (If you don’t want something reused or seen by others, do not post it publicly).
- Your Content Warranties: You represent that you have the right to post the content you submit. This means you either own it or have permission to share it, and that sharing it doesn’t violate any laws or anyone else’s rights. For instance, don’t upload a document from your employer if it’s confidential, and don’t copy-paste an article from someone else that isn’t yours. You also promise that your content doesn’t contain malicious code or malware.
If you choose to delete content you have posted or if you delete your account (if applicable), we will use reasonable efforts to remove it from active visibility. However, you acknowledge that removal may not be instantaneous and that cached or archived copies might persist (for example, in backups or if other users quoted or copied your content, we can’t retroactively remove those copies). The license you grant to us for use of your content will continue for as long as the content is available in our systems, but will terminate once fully deleted from our live systems.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
Aside from the user-generated content discussed above, all other content and materials on our website and Services are the intellectual property of Great Community or our licensors. This includes our Great Community name and logos/branding, the design and layout of our website, text, graphics, images we create, any software or code we write for the site, and any original content we publish (such as articles, guides, or videos branded as GC content).
These are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property unless we expressly authorize it. For personal, non-commercial reference, you’re welcome to read and share links to our content. But, for example, you cannot take our site’s text and publish it elsewhere as if it were your own, nor use our logo to create your own community without permission, etc.
If you believe any material on our site infringes your copyright or other IP rights, please notify us with detailed information so we can investigate and remove or disable access to the infringing material (per the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or equivalent laws, if applicable).
7. GREAT (GT) Token – Disclaimer and Terms
As part of the Great Community ecosystem, we are introducing a digital token called GREAT, abbreviated as GT. While this is an exciting part of our project, it’s important to understand the nature of the token and the terms under which we offer it. By acquiring, holding, or using GT in connection with our community, you agree to the following:
- Utility Token Purpose: GREAT (GT) is intended to be a community utility token. Its primary envisioned uses may include accessing certain community benefits (for example, token-gated channels or content), rewarding community participation, or other non-financial utilities within the Great Community ecosystem. It is not intended as an investment and should not be expected to generate profit by itself. The value of GT (if any) is derived from its utility and the community of users, not from the efforts of a central company promising returns. We make no guarantees about any future value.
- No Offer of Securities or Investment Advice: We are not offering GT as a security or an investment product. Nothing on our site or in our communications should be construed as an offering of investment, a solicitation to buy securities, or financial advice. We do not provide investment advice. If we mention the token or any crypto-related topics, it is for informational or community-engagement purposes only. Always do your own research and consider your risk tolerance. If you decide to acquire or transact GT (or any other cryptocurrency), you do so at your own risk.
- Token Transactions: GT operates on a blockchain (we will specify the blockchain/network when the token is launched; e.g., Ethereum or another chain). Any transactions involving GT (such as transfers between wallets) are recorded on the public blockchain. We do not control the blockchain or the transaction process — it is decentralized. All transactions are irreversible once confirmed on the blockchain. Great Community has no ability to cancel, refund, or recover tokens sent to a wrong address or lost due to user error. Use caution when dealing with crypto transactions. Double-check addresses and amounts before sending.
- User’s Wallet and Security: You are responsible for managing your own cryptocurrency wallet if you choose to hold GT. Great Community does not custody your tokens or manage your private keys. We will never ask for your wallet’s private keys or seed phrases. If we distribute tokens (for example, airdropping GT to early participants), we will ask only for your public wallet address. Keep your wallet credentials secure! If you lose access to your wallet (e.g., you lose your private key or recovery phrase), we cannot help you regain access or retrieve any tokens — that loss may be permanent. Likewise, if someone hacks your wallet because your credentials were compromised, we cannot undo any theft. Treat your wallet security with the same seriousness as you would your bank account.
- Regulatory Compliance: Cryptocurrencies are subject to evolving laws and regulations in different countries. It’s possible that holding or using GT might not be permitted or might be restricted in some jurisdictions. It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of GT is in compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction. Great Community is not liable for any legal consequences you might face for participating in the token aspects of our community. We also reserve the right to implement certain restrictions or requirements if needed to comply with applicable regulations (for example, we might exclude residents of certain regions from a token sale or require additional verification, purely to follow the law).
- No Monetary Value Guaranteed: At launch, GT might not be listed on any exchange or have any market value. Even if it becomes tradable on third-party exchanges, its price may be highly volatile and could even drop to zero. By using our Services and token, you acknowledge that you have no expectation of profit and you are participating for the sake of the community experience. If you choose to purchase GT from others or trade it, that is an independent decision separate from your involvement in GC. We’re not responsible for any losses.
- Token Availability and Changes: We reserve the right to modify or even discontinue any aspect of the GREAT (GT) token program. For instance, if we initially plan certain utilities for the token and later find a better solution or if regulatory reasons force changes, we may adapt how GT is used or earned. We will communicate with the community about any significant changes. Also, any distribution of tokens (like an airdrop or reward) is at our discretion – there is no guarantee of receiving tokens just by being in the community unless explicitly stated as part of a program with specific terms.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Great Community strives to provide an awesome platform and experience, but we need to make clear the limits of our responsibility. The Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Your use of our website and community is at your own risk. We disclaim all warranties and representations, express or implied, regarding the Services, including without limitation any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
- We do not warrant that the website or any content (including user-generated content) is accurate, complete, or up-to-date. While we attempt to moderate and ensure quality information, errors or omissions might occur, and members may share personal opinions that are not vetted. Take information shared in the community with a grain of salt and use your judgment. If we post any guides or tips, they are provided for general informational purposes with no guarantee of results or accuracy.
- We do not guarantee that the Services will be available at any given time or free from interruption. Uptime: There may be times the website is down for maintenance or due to technical issues beyond our control. The Discord or other platforms might also face outages or bans. We will try our best to keep things running smoothly, but technical glitches happen.
- We cannot promise that the site or servers will be free of viruses or other harmful components, though we certainly aim to prevent such issues. Use up-to-date security software on your devices as a precaution.
- If you download or obtain any content through our site or community (like files shared by members or links), you do so at your own discretion and risk. Great Community is not responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from downloading or using any such material.
No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from Great Community or through the Services, shall create any warranty not expressly made herein. This includes any advice given by community leaders or other members – they speak from personal perspective, not as licensed professionals (unless explicitly stated otherwise in a specific context).
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, the above disclaimers may not fully apply to you. In such cases, our warranties are limited to the extent permitted by your local law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Great Community and its founders, administrators, team members, partners, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses. This applies regardless of legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
This means that if something goes wrong – for example, you experience harassment from another user, or you rely on information on our site and it turns out to be incorrect causing you some loss, or perhaps there’s a security breach – Great Community’s liability to you is limited. We are not liable for damages like lost profits, or for other consequential damages stemming from these issues.
Specifically, regarding the GREAT (GT) token or any crypto-related aspect: Great Community will not be liable for any monetary losses related to cryptocurrency use. This includes losses from trading the token, lost access to a wallet, mistakes in transactions, or the token’s value fluctuations. Also, if someone manages to exploit something and steal tokens or impersonate us to scam you, we are not responsible for that direct loss (though we will certainly do what we can to help prevent and inform about such scenarios).
In all cases, our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to the use of our Services is limited to the amount (if any) you have paid us for access to the Services in the 12 months immediately preceding the event that gave rise to the liability. (In most cases, that amount is $0, as our community and website are generally free to access.)
Exceptions: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If laws applicable to you prohibit the above exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages, then to the extent required by law, those specific exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. However, all other exclusions/limitations in this section remain in full force.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Great Community, its founders, team members, moderators, affiliates, and partners from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees) arising from:
- Your use of and access to the Services (including any content you post, any actions you take within the community, or any use of the GREAT token);
- Your violation of any term of these Terms or of any applicable law or regulation;
- Your violation of any rights of a third party, including but not limited to intellectual property, confidentiality, or privacy rights;
- Any misrepresentation made by you.
This means if someone else sues us because of something you did (for example, you posted content that infringes someone’s copyright and they take legal action, or you engaged in illegal conduct via our platform), you’ll cover our costs and damages to the extent that we were sued or incurred losses due to your actions.
We reserve the right to handle our legal defense as we see fit, even if you are indemnifying us, and you agree to cooperate in any such defense as reasonably requested. We will make a reasonable effort to let you know if we are facing a claim that you need to indemnify us for, so you can be involved or aware.
11. Changes to the Terms
Great Community is an evolving project, and as such, our Terms may change as our services grow or laws change. We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top. In some cases, we might provide additional notice (such as a community announcement or an email, if you’ve provided one) to inform you of major changes.
It’s important that you review any changes. By continuing to use the Services after new Terms become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using our Services. We want to maintain a long-term relationship with our community members, so if any change truly concerns you, please communicate with us – feedback is welcome, and while we must have certain policies for legal protection, we do care about the community’s input.
12. Governing Law
Great Community operates (and is administratively based) [Note: specify jurisdiction when known]. These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of that jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
By using our Services, you consent that any disputes with Great Community will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. (We will specify, for example: “the laws of the State of [State], [Country]” or “the laws of [Country]” if/when the organization’s home base is officially established. If not specified, we will default to a jurisdiction that is reasonable based on our operational location or the majority of our team’s location.)
If you are accessing the Services from outside of our primary jurisdiction, you are responsible for complying with local laws. We make no representations that the Services are appropriate or available for use in all locations.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect. In other words, even if one part of the Terms is found to be invalid, the rest still apply. We would adjust the offending provision in a way that reflects our intent (as far as legally possible) and ensure the Terms remain functional.
14. No Waiver
Our failure or delay to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of the Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Great Community. For example, if we do not immediately act on a violation of these Terms by you or others, that doesn’t mean we’re giving up our right to act in the future or enforce that violation retroactively.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy (and any other guidelines or policies we post, which are incorporated by reference), constitute the entire agreement between you and Great Community regarding the use of our Services. They supersede any prior agreements or communications (whether oral or written) between you and us relating to the subject matter hereof. In plain language: these documents are the definitive rules and understanding between us; anything we may have said informally doesn’t override what’s written here.
16. Contact Information
Great Community is here for its members, and we want to maintain open communication. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback about these Terms or any of our services, please contact us:
- Email: greatcommunity@example.com (Replace with our actual contact email; currently a placeholder.)
- Discord: You can reach out to an admin/moderator in our official Discord server for urgent questions about the Terms, and they can guide you to the right person.
- Mailing Address: [If applicable, add a physical mailing address for legal notices once established.]
We will do our best to respond in a timely manner and address your inquiries. If you need to send us any formal legal notice, it should be sent to our email and/or physical address (when provided).
By using the Great Community website or participating in the GC community, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions. Thank you for being a part of Great Community! Let’s build something great together while respecting these guidelines and each other.
Happy connecting, learning, and growing! 🚀
